Scuba Missions -
Honduras
 Honduras is José DiGiorgio’s home country. The
first day of our trip will be spent helping the missionaries in San
Pedro Sula distribute clothing, food and medicines to the villages
in and around the city. Please bring these items in old suitcases to
leave behind. Our reward will be 5 fabulous days of diving in Utlia,
HOME OF THE WHALE SHARK!
The reef’s walls, caverns, crevasses
and eel gardens provide exotic dive sites for everyone. See a
variety of species of coral teeming with everything from morays,
octopus, and turtles~ to drums, wrasse and gobies~ to triggers,
schools of blue tangs, manta rays and wild dolphin!
The Bay Islands are located 30 miles north of
the coast of Honduras in the Western Caribbean Sea. A mountainous
ridge runs along the center of the island creating scenic hiking
through tropical trees, pockets of rainforest, vines and flowers to
dramatic vistas overlooking the ocean and reef. Along the coast are
diverse ecosystems from intricate mangroves and dramatic shore
coastline to beautiful sandy beaches and inlets. And of course, just
a short distance from shore is the barrier reef that has made the
Bay Islands famous for spectacular diving.

Just a Few Suggestions
We suggest a weight limit
of 55 pounds per person because some smaller carriers may apply
excess charges [currently run .50 per pound]. The atmosphere in the
Belize is very informal so it helps to pack lightly. On occasion,
luggage can be delayed and you may wish to include a few personal
items in a small carry-on.
You'll be asked to
complete a history form and to return it to the dive shop. Don't
forget your "C" card. You won't be able to dive without
it.
A valid Passport and
return or ongoing airline ticket is required for all visitors.
Currently, U.S., British and Canadian citizens can use a Birth
Certificate with a raised seal and photo ID as proof of citizenship.
